I’ve been feeling a need to be more politically active for a long time, beyond just absorbing news and having opinions. I wanted a way to make it easier for everyone to follow how their elected officials are voting as soon as it happens. The Parliament makes quite a bit of information freely available, but it’s not always available in the best way. I wanted to change that.
So I made Today’s Vote. It is always up to date with House of Commons vote information as soon as it’s published, and makes it available via Twitter, RSS and JSON feeds. I hope you’ll follow @todaysvote and that it helps you become more aware of how your representative is voting.
If you want to make our governments more open and accessible and want to chat about it, I’m all ears. I already have some ideas for election time.
